Conference Meets

Swim meets are dual meets meaning that IHST will compete against another RCSC team.

Please take note of the swim meet dates as scheduled (See "Calendar").

Swimmers should have eaten and hydrated throughout the day to avoid fatigue and cramps during the swim meet. Items all swimmers should have before leaving for the meet:

  • Swim suit
  • Goggles
  • Swim cap (if needed)
  • Towel
  • Water (during meet)
  • Energy drink (during and after meet to replace electrolytes)
  • Snack (during and after meet)
  • Map to meet location
  • Clothes to change into after meet

Check limits on where drinks and snacks can be consumed.  Most locations allow only water on the pool deck and bleacher/spectator areas.

Warm up is always one half hour before the start of the meet.  Please have your swimmer at the meet location on time.

It is important that the coaches know if anyone is missing from the meet. If your child cannot swim on the day of the meet, notification must be given in writing 48 hours in advance to one of the coaches.

If your child becomes ill or cannot swim on the day of the meet, please call the head coach or board member as soon as possible.

Swim meets last approximately three and a half hours.
